Give Peace a Chance…

One of the main missions of Rotary International is to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

We can achieve the goal of the mission only through people-to-people projects, showing that we feel and care for the people around us. Rotarians believe in co-existence and harmony and therefore we always look forward to support peace initiatives to teach and help people how to keep their dignity high - worth as humans.

Mother Teresa has said, "We all cannot do great things, but we can
do small things with great love."
Therefore let us work for world
understanding by spreading love. Even a smile or a simple hug gives hope
and builds friendship. Let us all give peace a chance.

The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.

The Rotary Foundation Educational Program - International Studies
for Conflict Resolution and Peace for the year 2011-2013.

BEIRUT, Lebanon (December 5, 2009) – Rotary Clubs in the Middle East and other parts of the world will accept applications in January for the 2011-2013 class of Rotary World Peace Fellows. Launched in 2002, this innovative program is aimed at helping the next generation of government officials, diplomats and humanitarian leaders develop the skills needed to reduce the threat of war and violence worldwide.

“You only have to pick up a newspaper to realize how vitally important it is that our world leaders be skilled in the arts of conflict resolution and peaceful negotiation,” said Dr. Michel P. Jazzar, Rotary representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) at a Rotary Foundation seminar in Beirut.

Through a worldwide, competitive process, this program awards full scholarships to up to 100 Rotary World Peace Fellows each year. Members of the 2011-13 class will be announced in October 2010.
